A Helpless Compiler is a site obsessed with all sorts of media: television, films, video games and books, particularly in the way all of these media can intersect. Here, we look at storytelling, character and atmosphere and see how well everything comes together in a larger context.

About the Compiler:
The Helpless Compiler in question is Les Chappell, continuous media addict, occasional freelancer and aficionado of sandwiches and bourbon.
Les is the founder and editor of the book review site The Lesser of Two Equals. His writing has appeared in publications such as The Escapist, Beer West and WTN Media, and has been picked up by media outlets such as U-WIRE, Kotaku and Slashdot.
He currently lives in Portland, OR, where he has a social life despite all evidence to the contrary and observes the goings on from a deluxe apartment in the sky.
